The Election Commission of Zambia ECZ has continued to announce election results showing PF Edgar Lungu with 701,089 votes representing 48.72 per cent.
UPND Leader Hakainde Hichilema is second with 674,185 votes representing 46.85 per cent.
Nawakwi Edith of Forum for Democracy and Development FDD managed to poll 11,770 votes with 0.82 per cent.
In announcing the results ECZ Chairperson Ireen Mambilima says it there 29 constituencies remaining.
Justice Mambilima indicated that so far the commission has received results from 121 constituencies.
Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ has expressed shock and dismay over the wrong election figures that ZNBC has been showing.
According to ECZ ZNBC has been showing wrong figures indicating that Patriotic Front is leading in some constituencies.
There was also confusion regarding on who was responsible for transmitting wrong results.
ECZ blamed ZNBC for transmitting wrong results but ZNBC indicated that they were receiving the same results from ECZ.
Meanwhile, ECZ briefing at Mulungushi Conference Centre was delayed after concerns of fake results being inflated in favour of the system.
UPND President Hakainde Hichilema says this prompted the meeting with ECZ, PF and UPND in an effort to ensure election were fair.
Earlier the announcement of the results was delayed due to concerns raised by stakeholders regarding the process.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia ECZ had delayed the announcement of more constituency results due to a meeting that involved the ECZ and political stakeholders and lasted for about three hours.
The involved the Patriotic Front PF and the United Party for National Development UPND.
ECZ Communications and Public Relations manager Crispin Akufuna made the announcement a few moments ago.
It is expected the Commission is addressing the parties concerns as well as easing the situation for the inevitable disappointment of one of the parties.
Akufuna said as soon as the meeting was over, the commission will resume announcements.
